high view tower, offering 360° view. You can see Kamniško-Savinjske Alps, in good weather conditions even the Julian Alps, the valley of the Slovenian capital city Ljubljana and much more. Just a few meters below the top there is a mountain lodge, which is open every day.

The lodge offers delicious homemade food. During the summer, you can get ice cream and all kind of cold drinks. But you should also try their food. Traditional homemade Slovenian food is delicious. Different stews, dumplings, strudels, etc. Of course, there are also beer and other beverages in the offer, coffee and in the winter, you can warm-up with excellent tea.

The hike to Rašica is not difficult, but it is enough to stretch your legs and enjoy nature, forest and the beautiful view from the top. In the winter, it’s just magical.


Who is (was) Stane Kosec?

Stane Kosec was a Slovenian partisan, who is today remembered as a Slovenian National Hero (in correlation to World War 2). He was born on October 11th, 1913 in Rašica and died in German captivity †October 3, 1941, in Begunje. The Germans captured him in one of the actions and later killed him as a prisoner in the Begunje prison.
He was proclaimed a national hero on November 27, 1953. In his memory, Primary School in Šmartno under the hill Šmarna gora and the top of the hill Rašica are named after him.
