Roblekov dom (Roblek’s home) is a mountain cottage. It was named after Hugo Roblek, who was born in 1871 and died in 1920 when the National House in Trieste was burned. It is also worth mentioning that Roblekov dom was burned down by the Partisans, in 1943.
Three years later, a new complex was built, the opening of which was on the 15th of September,.1946. The new cottage was the work of the climbers association of Radovljica (a city in Carniola part of Slovenia). Roblekov dom is located at 1657 meters above sea level. A pleasant ambiance in the embrace of the mountain world is enriched with culinary offer and hospitality of the cottage caretakers.
In front of the Roblekov dom there is a terrace with a spectacular view. In the distance, the Lake Bled shines. If you continue the hike, you reach a peak of 2060 meters high mountain Begunjščica. In the gallery, in a photo with a signpost, you can see the mountain Stol (Hochstuhl), and the Vrtača (Wertatscha). The first one is 2236 meters above sea level and is the highest mountain in the Karavanke Mountain range, while the other reaches 2181 m above sea level.
There is also a photo of a mountain stream that flows from the mountain Begunjščica to the Draga valley.
INFO: Mountains Stol and Vrtača are the natural border between Slovenia and Austria .
Begunjščica is a ridge mountain stretching from Smokuša in the west to St. Ana (Ljubelj) in the east. The whole mountain area is called Karavanke. The Begunjščica climbs above the valley Draga, which is a frequent starting point for hikers to Roblekov dom and beyond … A wonderful attraction that shows this is a region with rich heritage is the Kamen Castle. The ruins of the castle are located along the road that leads to the hikers starting point. You can park your car in front of the entrance to the ruins of the castle Kamen, beginnings of which date back to the 12th century.
